Seriously, with the increasing cost to Employers for Health Insurance, do you think that they are going to start profiling applicants on the QT? We know they probably do already. IS THE INTERNET RESPONSIBLE FOR OUR BAD HEALTH?
With the explosion of the world wide web, social media and video streaming, people are spending most of their waking day in front of the computer.
The usual routine of waking up, checking email and clearing out your pda’s of mail and news, then going to your facebook and twitter pages to reply to comments, emails and mentions and then the rest of the day you’re at the pc if you’ve got a desk job.
After hrs that doesn’t stop as you tweet, text and message people with your pda on the way home and then back at the house you’ll download your next movie or be playing angrybirds to chill out while still multi-tasking on facebook as you eat that Big Mac n Milkshake you bought on the way home as you have no time to cook healthy food!
The best exercise you’re getting is a walk from the car park to the office and when you hit the sheets, you’re ready to do it all over again the next day.
It’s time to change America, let the PC and PDA rest for a couple of hrs and get in some walks, take the kids to the park and throw ball or other exercise to help keep you healthy. America has a love of dining out and fast food, morning coffees at Starbucks are sugar laden lattes and cupcakes to go. Change the routine.
Take that extra half hr to go to the store and buy fresh food, for example make a nice chicken salad for your evening meal (but don’t then smother it with high calorie dressings) and you’ll feel so much healthier than that calorie busting Big Mac Meal!
